Stuart Park - Downtown Kelowna

The parkland (located on Water Street, across the street from City Hall, between Queensway Avenue and the Kelowna Yacht Club building) was named after former City of Kelowna Mayor James (Jim) Stuart in recognition of his dedication to the community and his 31 years of service.

Fronting on 300 metres of prime waterfront in downtown Kelowna, Stuart Park promises to attract locals and visitors alike. The new park is designed to showcase quality urban waterfront park development, create a focal point for the City’s civic and Cultural District and provide environmental and fisheries benefits for the site. The outdoor skating rink provides a fun and affordable opportunity for residents to stay active during the winter months. It’s also a gathering place in downtown Kelowna.

This rink is right at the waterfront boardwalk, overlooking Okanagan Lake, the Kelowna marina, and presided-over by the dazzling statue of a Bear. As far as settings go, this one is pretty special.

Part of the Waterfront Parks Plan, Stuart Park provides a portion of the plan's goal to provide continuous public access to Kelowna's beautiful shoreline.

The park features adhere to nature-inspired concept plan and include:

- Outdoor ice rink
- Lakeside promenade
- Civic plaza
- Promontory
- Public art
- Riparian enhancements

The Stuart Park ice rink is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., weather permitting. The camera image (CLICK HERE) will update every 90 seconds allowing residents to view rink conditions before heading downtown.
