Have you seen the new layout of your Google+ Local page? Go to your page and scroll up. Google+ has a new interface with bigger cover photos which it's a map by default pointing out the location of your business. The size of the image can be changed expanding the size of your browser window. The image will resize based on the width of your browser window. The following tutorial explains how to change that image, and how to make it smaller.

The new photos can be up to 2120 pixels by 1192 pixels. It's a big image that almost covers the whole screen. We must use that size to start, but we will finish with a smaller image.

1) Log in to your Google+ Account ( https://plus.google.com ), move the mouse over Home, and click on 'Profile' - Top left side -. If you didn't change to the new design yet, click on 'Change yours now', otherwise click on 'Change cover'.

2) Click on 'Upload' to upload your new image. The image must be at least 2120 pixels wide by 1192 pixels height.

3) Now, drag the crop handles out to include the entire image.

4) Your cover image is updated with your new photo but it's still too large. (Refresh the page if you can't see it). Now, we are going to adjust the size.

5) Click on your 'Photos' tab, check out your albums, and click into your 'Scrapbook photos'. You should see your new cover photo at the bottom of the list of photos. Click on the photo.

6) Click 'Edit photo' at the top left.

7) Click 'crop' at the top of the editing menu.

8) Drag your crop handles out to include just the area of the image that you want to use. Again, it will work best to crop to the full width of the image.

9) Click 'Save' at the top right.

10) Click the option to replace the original photo.

11) Click 'Apply' to finalize your crop and save the image.

12) Close that window clicking on the 'X'.

13) Click on 'Profile' - Top left side -.

14) Refresh your profile page if you can't see the new cover photo, and you're done!
