Probably you have spent thousands of dollars in your website trying to reach a bigger audience. Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Mobile Friendly, and Higher Ranking in Search Engines are a few of the terms that probably you are familiar with. But, How can you be 100% sure that the 'Website Designer' did a good job?

There is no way to be 100% sure of the quality of their job, but there are some online tools you can use to validate their work in a much more comforting manner.

1) As an electrician is suppose to do their job properly, web designers are suppose to know what they are doing to create websites without errors in their code.

HTML and CSS are the code that designers use to structure webpages, and if the architecture is sub-par or out of date you can end up with problems on your web page. You can use the following instructions to check the stability of your website.

- To check the CSS code of your website use the following CSS Validator tool: jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
and type your website address in the field to the right side of 'Address:' and click on 'Check'.

This tool will tell you how many errors the CSS code your website has.

- To check the markup (HTML, XHTML, etc.) of your website, use the following Markup Validator tool: validator.w3.org
Just type your website address in the field to the right side of 'Address:' and click on 'Check'.

This tool will tell you how many error in the markup code your website has.

With this information you can go back to your web design company and check with them to make sure that you're getting your moneys' worth. If You're paying for a working website, you better be getting one darnit!

Also, if you don't have a website yet, but you are considering to have one in the near future, just use these tools to check the web design company. If their own website is full of errors, what do you expect?

2) POP QUIZ! Answer the following statement to be true of false, "My website is mobile friendly." Not sure how to answer? If you have to pinch the screen to zoom in and out, that's the first tell tale sign that your website is not mobile friendly, and if you then had to answer "False", well you're potentially losing customers who are on the go if they are using their mobile devices to visit your website.

Do you want to see how your website actually looks on a smartphone? Click on the following link: developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/, type your website's URL, and then hit 'Analize'.

Mobile devices are becoming more and more popular as the age of computers continue to evolve, you can't just pull the towel over your head and pretend they're not a heavy hitter anymore.
