I've found that a lot of businesses are giving away their owner role from their Google+ business page to another entities such as: social media companies, and web designers. Take a closer look of the following graphic, specifically to the different capabilities per type of user. As owner, the person can do anything with your business page. Why instead of an owner role, you don't  assign him/her a Manager role?
